Once a month, we are going to be sharing some fun questions and answers from a staff member here at NGT. Our hopes is that this will give you the opportunity to get to know us a little better and see the people who make NGT tick. We are kicking off this fun post with our CEO, Brian Blodgett.

Q: Something fun about yourself you’d like others to know:
A: I love bad disaster films. The worse the science, the more fun it is.
Q: Who inspires you and what about them is inspiring?
A: Alton Brown. His energy and ability to distil complicated things down
Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world and why?
A: Underwater . . . . . . SCUBA DIVING
Q: What’s the coolest thing you are working on right now?
A: Rebuilding the technology strategic plan that is reflecting the organizations business plan that will change their business flow.
Q: Describe the best meal you’ve ever had:
A: A food tasting the kids, wife, and I had a few years ago that had science meets art theme. The food was incredible in both flavor and presentation. The description of each work of art just added to the experience.
Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world that you’ve never been, where would you go and why?
A: Japan . . . . . Sushi
Q: What’s the most helpful way for you to get feedback?
A: An honest discussion in person. A friend will tell you it will be ok. A true friend will tell you that you messed up and standby you while you work to fix it.
Q: What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
A: Rewire my house to make more and more devices ‘smart’
Q: What are three things still left on your bucket list?
A: The moon or Mars, but I would settle for LEE (Low Earth Orbit), Ted Talk, & Japan
Q: What’s one accomplishment in your career that you’re most proud of?
A: Teaching no matter where I go
Q: What is a time that you failed, but learned an invaluable lesson—explain:
A: How much time do you have? I fail all the time, learning comes best with failures.
Q: What makes you laugh?
A: My Wife and Kids!
Q: If your life was a movie genre, what genre would it be?
A: A “B” rated Disaster film
Q: How do you rely on others to make you better?
A: I surround myself with people that have skills I do not.
